March 2, 2012

Each June approximately 35 to 40 high school juniors and seniors from Ohio meet up with about 1,400 other students from across the country as part of this program sponsored by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

The week-long trip includes visits to many of the most famous sites in Washington, D.C., and includes visits with the students' Congressional representatives.

The tour will be seven days, six nights in all.

Among the many attractions we are planning to see are the U.S. Capitol, Smithsonian Institution, Vietnam Memorial, Mount Vernon, the Kennedy Center and much more.  There will be an evening cruise on the Potomac River and a dinner-dance.  We will meet with our Ohio congressional representatives and will attend Youth Day where students will get information on cooperatives and the rural electric program, plus much, much more.
