Welcome to the Logan County Electric Cooperative Website!

We get a lot out of the ground at our place.

Corn. Peppers. Tomatoes. Geothermal energy.

A geothermal heating and cooling system has the power to transfer heat from the earth into your home in winter. And in summer, the system cools by pulling heat from your home back into the earth. It’s efficient, effective, environmentally friendly and can help you save up to 50% on your heating and cooling costs.

Rebates apply to NEW Geothermal installations!

*To earn the rebate, the Cooperative requires that two radio control switch(es) be placed on your system. At no cost to you, these items help us to control electrical load on hot summer days and very cold winter nights keeping everyone's rates low. To qualify for the rebate, the member must have their dealer wire for two radio controlled switches. The cooperative supplies both items at no charge which may be picked up either by the member or their installer. Upon notification, the Cooperative will conduct an inspection and activate the service. The member will then receive a $1,000 credit on their account.

But hurry, the rebates may not last forever!

The concept is simple. Water and an alcohol solution circulate through a series of plastic pipes (called a loop) placed in the ground or submerged in a pond. Heat is absorbed and carried to the geothermal unit, which extracts the heat, compresses it to higher temperatures and distributes it through the home. A conventional well may also be used to provide the heat source. In either case, the process is reversed during the summer months by removing the heat from inside the home.

A $1,000 rebate helps make your geothermal purchase and installation affordable. For more information on Geothermal Heating, Cooling & Hot Water call the Cooperative office or send an e-mail to memberservices@logancounty.coop
