Building project is on track, and under budget

With an anticipated late summer completion, the new office building for Logan County Electric Cooperative is taking shape. Interior framing, ductwork, wiring and drywall installation is transforming the vision into reality.
Built with the future in mind, effective use of technology and efficient use of energy is incorporated into the structure.
Provision for a SCADA system will provide for better awareness of potential system problems before electrical failures occur, as well as minimize the length of outages by more accurately identifying the location of outages and their cause. A new member drive-through will allow members the ability to drop-off their payments without leaving their car.
The 2013 Annual Meeting will be held at the cooperative building on Tuesday evening, August 6. Current plans are to provide tours of the new building, prior to the official meeting. Please plan to join us for an evening of reports about YOUR not-for-profit cooperative, and, hopefully, tours of the new office building.

In 2013, Logan County Electric Cooperative members will elect trustees from District 5 (Pleasant, Miami, Union and Liberty townships), District 6 (Village of Huntsville) and District 7 (Washington and Harrison townships).

By action of the Nominating Committee, which met on April 16, the following members are placed into nomination for trustees of the cooperative:

DISTRICT 5
Doug Comer
Jim Headings

DISTRICT 6
Emerson Snapp
Scott Hall

DISTRICT 7
Warren Taylor
Paul Kaffenburger

According to the Cooperative's Code of Regulations, any member may be nominated by submitting a written petition not less than forty (40) days prior to the Annual Meeting of Members, signed by not less than one hundred (100) active members. Eligible candidates may obtain a petition by contacting Doug Miller, president, at 937-592-4781. Petitions must be signed and returned to the office no later than June 27.

The official meeting notice and voting ballots will be mailed to all members on or before July 17, listing all candidates from districts 5, 6 and 7 as well as other voting business to come before the membership.
